Take the Next Step Forward

This wraps it up for our Murph prep series.

If you’ve missed the prior four weeks of our Murph Prep series and want to revisit those write-ups, you can find links to those blog posts below:

Whether you participated in Memorial Day Murph or not, we hope that the past few weeks have given you a goal to build toward so that you could form some consistency around the healthy habits you may have been avoiding so far this year.

As you reflect on the work you put in and the results you achieved, it’s important that you also think about what comes next.

The thing about fitness and health is that it’s an ongoing journey. Regardless of how much work you put in over the past month, today marks a new week and, soon, a new month.

Use the momentum you’ve built leading up to Murph to take the next step toward your bigger goals.

ONE THING TO Do THIS WEEK

What you eat over the course of a single day is pretty much meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Memorial Day and most three-day weekends are oftentimes when people enjoy social events and loosen the reins on their nutrition a bit more than they would like.

And that's OK!

If you had a few too many burgers at the Memorial Day barbecue or hit the chips and guac a bit too hard, it’s all right.

The key here is what you do to bounce back.

This week, make sure you get right back on track following the summertime kick-off festivities. Aim for balanced meals that include a serving of protein, carbs, and healthy fats, and that are made up of mostly whole foods.

If you let loose on Monday but stay disciplined and consistent Tuesday through Sunday, that’s still a major win!

Another Thing To Do This Week

Our next series will be a four-week series focused on RECOVERY. Over those four weeks, we’ll cover:

  • How To Optimize Your Sleep

  • Using Deliberate Cold Exposure

  • The Importance of Myofascial Release

  • Taking Rest Days
