NCFIT Programming Changes Coming in 2023
December 14, 2022 | Words by Liz Francis
If you follow us on Instagram, you’ve probably heard about some exciting changes for NCFIT coming in 2023! Among all the chatter, we’ve received a lot of questions about this switch. So to kick off Week 4 of our EOE Newsletter reader Q&A, we thought this would be a perfect time to answer the big question:
“What is the NCFIT Workout and how is it going to be different from current programming?”
Keep reading for the breakdown of what to expect in 2023 as you work out with us on the app or in a gym.
THE NCFIT WORKOUT
While you’re used to seeing NCMETCON and NCX workouts each day, in 2023, we’ll be combining these two programs under one single program called the NCFIT Workout.
One of the most prevalent pieces of feedback we get is, “I love both programs, I just wish they lined up with each other!” Well, we listened and we came up with an incredible solution that will combine high complexity with traditional strength training, leaving us with the best and most well-rounded workout program out there.
P.S. This change only affects the main programming track. NCFLEX and NCCOMPETE aren’t going anywhere!
One Program, Two Levels
So, what does the breakdown look like? The NCFIT Workout is one program with two levels: PERFORMANCE and FITNESS.
The PERFORMANCE LEVEL of the daily workout will be a high-skill and high-power version. You’ll get to use skills, loading, and volume that you expect to see in a functional fitness program.
The FITNESS LEVEL of the daily workout will be a moderated version. Think simple but effective.
The new NCFIT Workout gives us the best of both worlds. Whether you’re an avid competitor or use fitness to keep up with your kids — or a little bit of both! — this program will help you reach your goals.
2023 is going to be the best year yet. Download the NCFIT App on iOS to work out with us and become your best self in the new year. The NCFIT Workout will show up in the app starting Monday, January 2, 2023.
One Thing to Try This Week: Don’t Wait Until January
This is the most tempting time of year to say “I’ll wait until January.” Between New Year's resolutions, colder temperatures, and even waiting for the new NCFIT Workout to drop, it’s easy to put things off!
One of the topics we’ve talked about before is the importance of getting outside to take a walk (yes, even when it’s cold). Not only is it great for your body to get moving and increase blood flow, taking a walk is great for the mind as well.
We all know that the holidays are a stressful time, so do yourself a favor and take one walk every day this week. Extra points if you leave your phone at home!
