Be the CEO of Your Own Life

To celebrate Women’s History Month, every Monday and Friday during the month of March, we’re highlighting just some of the many women that are a crucial part of NCFIT. Today, we highlight Arielle. Arielle (aka Bloom) is a nutrition coach, L3 coach, and a self-prescribed holistic health nut who enjoys helping people fuel, move, and work in synergy with the body they’re in.

Growing up, I dropped out of every sport I played.

Any time it got hard, I made it mean that I wasn’t “good” enough, so I just removed myself from the hard stuff. I said it was because it wasn’t fun, but, really, it was because I didn’t think that my effort would actually make me better.

It wasn’t until college that I was introduced to weightlifting and started learning about how food affected my body’s ability to move and think, and (without being dramatic) everything changed. I found my voice, my strength, and most importantly, I found resilience. Suddenly, when it got hard, retreating was no longer the option — there was only forward. When I started experiencing this resilience — this feeling that no matter how hard it was going to be, that I could get through it — it wasn’t enough to have it just for myself.

I STARTED COACHING TO GIFT THE PEOPLE AROUND ME THE SAME RESILIENCE, STRENGTH, AND CONFIDENCE THROUGH FITNESS (AND, LATER, NUTRITION EDUCATION) THAT I FOUND IN MYSELF.

I started my own business so I could make more of an impact. It was no longer enough to just experience it between my own two ears; I wanted the people around me to level up, too.

Have you ever heard the saying, “The world needs more people that have come alive?” Well, this was my version of empowering my world to come alive.

4 pillars of health

Coaching, teaching, supporting, and empowering — my functional nutrition and mindset practice has allowed me the space to create through these lenses. These are all the ways I’ve come alive and, incidentally, they’re the ways I’ve supported thousands of others to come alive, too.

You might be wondering what it means to truly come alive. Let’s paint a picture:

Through functional nutrition and mindset coaching with me, you become educated on what foods help you feel amazing and how you can nourish your body to fuel your mind. With a nourished mind and body, you are empowered to create an impact on the world around you. When you create an impact on the world around you, you find immense value in your life. When you value your life, you find joy in everything. When you find joy in everything, you support others to do the same.

A RISING TIDE LIFTS ALL SHIPS, AND WHEN WE START WITH NUTRITION EDUCATION, THE RIPPLE EFFECT IS STUNNING.

It all starts with food. Not because food is the problem (while there are plenty of problems in our food system), but because how you do anything is how you do everything. When you prioritize your health, you show up better for the people around you. When you show up better for the people around you … you get the point.

With my clients in my private practice, I talk about the “4 Pillars of Health,” the four areas of your health that, if you choose one thing from each to incorporate, you’ll see a positive impact almost instantly. By knowing those four pillars, the hope is that you expand how you think about your health, rather than just putting all your eggs in the fitness basket.

There is also an overarching theme that plays a huge role in how you interact with these four pillars and the world around you: your mindset. In every facet of your health, your mindset plays a huge role in your success. Investing time in yourself is the greatest gift you can give to those around you. Make sure you are filling your cup so you can truly be there for your loved ones and your community — you can’t pour from an empty cup.

LET’S RAISE THE TIDES TOGETHER, STARTING WITH YOUR OWN SHIP.
