IN IT FOR THE LONG RUN

I began working in the fitness industry when I was 16. Since then, I have had countless people come through our doors, download our app, or call in looking to improve their fitness.
More times than not the conversation starts with a member saying “I need to lose/gain/tone etc ASAP, I’ll commit everyday and eat whatever you tell me.”
Early in my career I would provide them specific guidance to come in almost everyday, train this way, and eat this way.
Turns out that wasn’t the best advice for most people, most of the time. Time after time Id see members fired up for a few weeks then fall off and never be seen again. It was heartbreaking and taught me some valuable lessons.
One of which is this: I want for myself and all of our members to be as fit as possible for as long as possible. We don’t need you super fit for a day, month, or even year…. We want you fit for the rest of your life. We want fitness to never inhibit the things you want to do. We want you to be crushing It at 80 the same way you are at 40.
Start by establishing a goal that is realistic. That maybe even seems easy and hit It. A small step is a step, something is better than nothing, and habits can’t be changed overnight. For long term sustainable success, take your time…. with consistency results will follow.
